Team Cyclops announce Real Time Save Support For Cyclo DS Evo
It has been known for some time that Team Cyclops have been working on real time save state support for there Slot 1 flash card the Cyclo DS Evo but as the Supercard one beat it to the punch in there newest firmware update they have announced that they will be releasing there in development version of there firmware update as a Beta within the next few days while they iron out the creases for a full release some time soon.
I've always wondered why RTSS wasn't easier to implement. I'm no programmer, but it seems like it would be as easy as dumping the contents of the RAM (save) and then restoring it during a load.
This could be one of the reasons for the problems
Evolution (one of the dev team over at Team Cyclops) :

RTS works quite well, but due to the NDS having write-only registers this can sometimes lead to graphic artefacts or other minor issues on loading. However, we are working on some special code which can "capture" these write-only registers - once this code has been perfected, RTS will be near perfect.
I don't really know to be honest I could find out though I will post any reply's I get here. I would imagen that its gonna be because of some obtuse variables that it can be a pain but again I'm really not sure.
Now the waiting game begins for every other manafacturer to introduce this feature. Something that will be interesting to look forward to is to whether the Acekard R.P.G introduces this feature, and if they do their Firmware is open source so we will all be able to see how they do it
I hope that this is something that the other flashcard team's put some effort into implementing as it is a great feature that could really make a difference to which card you choose.
The beta firmware with full RTS support is now avalible HERE. I am without my Cyclo DS Evo at the moment so I haven't been able to try it out but reports are that compatibility is decent so far and Team Cyclops aid that now its out the door there should be more frequent updates to the firmware.
