I remember tweaking my Gamecube laser's pot to work with the cheap ass disks that the local Wilcos sold when I was so poor it was all I could afford. Apparently the extra compatibility that comes with DVD-R can be achieved on DVD+R by changing the booktype to fake it. There is a good guide to it over at Mod Ya Wii.
Its weird with the to find a perfect combination with different chips likeing different media due to drive speeds. I hope my D2Ckey ain't too fussy when it comes back from the fitters.
I just got my D2Ckey Wii back and the Maxell +R x16 that I have used for years on the Game Cube didn't work and I gave my GC away to my brother . But on a better note my local Woolworths sell a range of DVD-R x8 in there Worthit! range that retail at only £10 for 52 and they work like a charm. Bargain.
Fujifilm DVD-R 16X bought on sale (burned @ 4X) working flawlessly with WiiFree and Yaosm so far. I have also used a bunch of Lightscribe DVD-R discs that I bought on sale and all have worked perfect so far (25 of them, also burned @ 4X). Highly recommend both, if you can find them cheap enough. The Fuji's were about $10 for a 50 pack (bought in store, what a steal) and the Lightscribe's were about $10 shipped for a 25 pack (but they look so nice).
