After months of coding and porting and ripping and rewriting Wii Miidia as I like to call it is about to be released into the wild. I have a few people beta testing it now and helping me work out some bugs. Wii Miidia is something that many people I hope will enjoy as I put alot of time and effort into this project.

Wii Miidia as you can guess is a Media Center for the Nintendo Wii based off of XBMC. Since the Wii comes with it's own Weather Channel I had decided to strip the weather functions from Wii Miidia. There are still a few bugs that I am trying to work out but one of the best features this offers in my opinion is the ability to listen to Shoutcast Radio on the Wii. Right now this only supports streaming files and files stored on the SD Card, however since there is recent developments by SVPE I hope to be able to include USB Storage devices as well in the future.

Video Support:
MPEG, MPEG2, MPEG4, DIVX, XVID, MOV, WMV, VOB and more.

Audio Support:
AAC, MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, MID and more.

Controls Are:

A = Play
B = Pause/Resume
- = Previous Song/Chapter
+ = Next Song/Chapter
Dpad Left = Rewind
Dpad Right = Fast Forward
Dpad Up = Change Aspect Ratio (NTSC/PAL/Wide/Standard)
Dpad Up + B = Zoom In
Dpad Down = Change Visual in Audio mode / Change Subtitle in DVD Mode
Dpad Down + B = Zoom Out
Home = Settings Menu
1 = Return to Main Menu
2 = Return Previous Menu
Power = Shutdown Wii

Wii Miidia will at first be released as .elf and will need to be ran via TP Hack, Homebrew Channel or any other way you like to load your ELF files, However the final version will come in .elf and as a channel for those who would like easy access to the application. Well that is all for right now I hope to have this cleaned up and released for everyone in the next few days. I would like to also thank bushing for all of his hard work as well as the rest of the guys from #wiidev and Wiibrew.org without them I never would have been able to get this done.

It is based off the XBMC Concept using code from XBMC ported to Wii as well as code from MFE and custom code. It is not a full port. As it stands right now you can not skin it yet. I plan on giving it that option in a later more final release. This project has been months in the works and I amd just trying to get a nice basic release first and then let other view the source and build on it with me or on their own.

A note to everyone else. I really hate the fact that I am doing this but I have a little rant. I did not make Wii Miidia for fame or furtune. I did this to give to the back to those who have given to us before. I know that everyone is excited about this app and honestly I am as well, but please spamming me 100 messages a day asking to be a tester and asking if I can do this and that for you is doing nothing but slowing the project down.

Don't get me wrong questions about features that Wii Miidia can do as well as suggestions and ideas of what you may like to see in it are more than welcome and even encouraged. Just please keep the oh I want to try it PMs and When is it goping to be done PMs down to a min. I try to reply to everone but waking up to 100PM and more emails than I have time to read and reply just slow me down. Wii Miidia is not the only project I am working on but like I said before it is the one I am putting the most time and effort into.

Ok 1st I should not even bother posting this at all because unlike what most of you think I have a ton of stuff going on. First I would like to apologize that this thing has gotten ugly. I was rushed into releasing stuff and things got ugly the file was corrupt due to my vpn crapping out with my computer at work. This was out of my control. I am sorry the handfull of beta testers have not been responding I only got word back from 2 of them and they are having problems saying it freezes on load with a black screen witch I think is from a bad compile. As for this mention of 37 I keep seeing and went back through the thread I dont know where this magical # came from.

The ap has alot of bugs in it right now and on monday when I return to my job and have access to my laptop I will work on getting them out. All the hate and shit talking in this thread just make so pissed. I know now how much this ap is wanted at the time I honestly did not expect it to have this big of a following so did not think delays would cause so much headache to me. I want to thank bushing and those of you who understand what it is like to try and release something and be hounded day in and day out.

I assure you this is not some hoax. Those of you who claim it was to bring traffic to the forum thats just plain shit I was getting plenty of traffic here and all this thread has done is made things a mess here. I do have a life and I do work on many things and there are those who know me and those who don't. For example I have talked with bushing alot in the past even worked with him on the semibrick stuff. We even ended up fully bricking a semibrick together to learn the way not to fix a semibrick. The guys in #wiidev are great and like I did in the 1st post I give much credit to them for their work. I would like to also apologize to them for the headache from not meeting this self set deadline. I know this is giving them a headache as well.

With all this being said I am going to get back to my life and the hundreds of things I have to do.

Because after all the headaches and bitching and crying I just got fed up and decided to say fuck it and not release it till it is done. No more rushing to make all of you happy because most of the post have done nothing but disrespect me and this forum.

I will be sure to provide details on how the project is coming along and once setup will also include videos of it along the way. Yes I may pass it out to a few more people but no promises again. This project has just been nothing but hell on me I never thought it would be a big deal like it has become.

With that being said it will be released when I get it done to a point where I feel it is good enough to be released now. If you don't like that oh well go thank all the others in the thread for making this thing more of a nightmare. I still have people sending me messages all day telling me to let them beta and my ignore list has now reached the hundreds. Yes this is my own fault for not meeting my deadline. I was almost to the point of completely dropping the project and am still thinking about it, because people don't get the point. There are a few of you who have supported this project and I respect that and because of you guys this is the only reason I plan to still work on it other than the fact I want it working for myself as well.

For those of you who offered to help I am not ignoring you and I may take you up on the offer. My job has a very heavy workload on me at the moment and some of you know about this already.

These post right here are the ones that make me want to just drop the project and let it die. I am so sick and tired of explaining myself in thread after thread. If you dont know how to read the posts I made before this then I can't help you. If it wasn't for the fact that locking this thread would just cause 50 more to open up it would be closed right now.

I am having issue what I feel now are do to the Wiimote support that was added to it and after speaking with bushing he said that wiimote support has cause him some problems as well and also thinks it may be what is causing the bugs. I don't want to just ditch the wiimote support because I feel that is what makes the app worth anything I mean without wiimote support it is nothing more than MFE or MP3 Player in my opinion.

Ok time for some updates. I have been looking into the HD stuff. This looks like something that might be doable but I am not really sure at what costs. I dont want to lose to much on the FPS. Someone made a suggestion about looking at the ScummVM Wii code for wiimote support saying it didn't require the wiimote to be synced with the 1 & 2. After looking at what I have here the code does not support Wiimote only GC Controller. I also started playing with a limited skinning ability right now will only alow you to change the background.
