Well it will work on Linux in the Final version, but at the moment I am just trying to get it parsing the XML Files right

And what should I say, it filters all the image until now, didn't spend time on making the HTML but still, the concept works out and I'm very optimistic that I can finish this application!

All that in only a few days? NICE! As soon as the first version is released i will sure try it out! It would be nice though if i knew exactly which pages/buttons i should create. I could make an xbmc skin, but i think that a lot of that work will be lost when i translate it to a Wii Miidia skin. Anyone knows exactly what buttons are and what aren't necessary?

well just have a look in the xml files of the sample skin i think it explains pretty much itself!

if you've got the tools this isn't much work and for now - it works great, unfortunately you can't view the preview in the app itself, you have to use a browser, but when you click on an item in the list, it automatically generates an html file in the directory of the skin

but still, it's bound to a special format, you have to use exactly the same xml format as dciso in his sample skin, i mean for images, write all the attributes like posx, posy and so on in the same order but that's not a real problem i think Nevertheless, there's still some work to do, there is a mistake in the Settings.xml, i can't figure out why my app has problems reading this file!

Next thing would be label support, not just images, with images alone, you can't really see what it looks like, but for today, i'm done more progress i think tomorrow!

A release shouldn't be that far away! but still, no date or time, want to make sure it's working so you can build your themes with that without having the app I will create some test pages before releasing the app just to make sure it also works with "custom" pages!

Hi dCiSo!

Registered to the forums to show my support for Wii Miidia! I have little problems downloading the skin sample, but it's propably my internet connection. I also have questions to ask:

I have read that this is based on Wii Linux. Is that correct? 'Cause it really sucks to have to load the Linux kernel in i.e Geexbox. It feels like it takes for ever to watch a movie.

So, how long does it take to load Wii Miidia? I believe it takes a lot longer if it really is based on Wii Linux.

Keep up the great work!

P.S. As you might or might not have guessed, my native language is not english, so pardon me for my spelling.

It was originally based on Wii Linux, but has since been completely scrapped and redone as a full native wii application. This should make it much faster to load and faster running than GeexBox. Plus that means it'll have better, native support for wifi and wiimotes due to running on IOS rather than through the Linux Kernel.

Well, that's awesome news! It just bugs me a lot when booting Geexbox that it takes so long, where other programs load in under a second. Thanks, Frozen-Solid!

BTW, I managed to download the skin sample on the fifth try, looks awesome. I noticed that there's a file that says "XBOX" on it! Now I could try some skinning, and see what I can do. Probably won't get anything done before the actual release of Wii Miidia, but let's give it a try.

Yes the Skin system is based off of XBMC that is why you has seen the XBOX in it. It was the skin I converted over to use with Wii Miidia and it shows off all features used for WiiMiidia. It was just a crude skin to show off the commands. In the future you will be able to convert XBMC theme to Wii Miidia themes.

Now on a Seperate note back to the progress being made. Video code is moving along quite nice right now.

I have finished the MPEG, MPEG2 and DIVX support and am working on XVID as I am typing this.

Yes, I know it is based on XBMC, it just seemed funny. Do you mean that there's gonna be a tool that we can use to convert the skins, or that they are convertable manually? However, good to know, XBMC does have some sweet, sweet themes.

About the video codecs, I thought that Divx and Xvid are basicaly the same? Xvid is just open source version? Well, then again, what do I know. What do you have left after the video codecs are done?

Well like I said it could have just been something left in it was a crude covertion just to give people an Idea on how the skinning would work. After all is said and done the Tool I plan on making will let you load the XBMC Skin and click a few buttons and it will make all changes to make it Wii Media compatible.

Once all the codec are done all that is left is linking everything together and then make the initial release.
