Thumbs up nice

Very nice ifletcher indeed.

The name of your application, Viiew is actually a pretty laid back title for a Wii Miidia community website.
Let's hope it'll serve as a base of operations for Miidia related news once Wii Miidia is released.

Thumbs up sweet

If you can host a website, you should also host information about wii miidia once it is released. And either host downloads for wii miidia, or post links to a download location such as sourceforge.

I just want to say, great work. This is looking very very promising so far, and I totally disagree with the worry, I think the ability to play an actual DVD on an unmodded Wii is quite the amazing thing. ^_^

You said something about wanting to set up a website, yes? I have some webspace you are more than willing to use for this, and I can help you get it up and running if you don't feel you have the time. Just let me know if you're still planning to set one up.

Not trying to step on anyones toes as there is some great work going on around here, but I think the site should be a general Miidia site, instead of focusing solely on one aspect. I say this only because further down the track when Miidia takes off it would be great to already have a central place for updates and so fourth... I'm not very skilled but I'd be willing to help out...

Well I think a website is something minor at the moment because the app is not out yet!

but back to viiew, I started to work on release 2 now, just some bug fixes at the moment:
- if you move the folder of the skin in the settings, the app won't start up anymore -> very high priority
- universal binary for mac users will be out with release 2

Well and with release 2, the website will launch too

greets

You make a valid point, and I realize I forgot to clarify. I'm offering just space, so that he could host the actual file (mirror it, if you will) if desired. If someone wants to actually set up a general Miidia site, I'm more than willing to pitch in and help.

I think of course that the best place to actually publish it, at first at least, would be wiibrew, where the largest amount of people would be most likely to see it. So I guess when its released, I'll happily mirror it, and I'll be more than willing to host an actual base site for miidia related things if desired.

To be more flexible. ^_^

He ifletcher, or dCiSo, got a (maybe) stuppid question about the sample skin and viiew... The sample skin is a 16:9 skin. But when i look at the X and Y pixels, than it's all in 4:3 pal. So if i'm right, than Wii Miidia will stretch 720x576 up to a wide screen format of (in pixels) 920x576. If that's the case, is it than possible to make a 16:9 preview butten in viiew?

I also have an idea that would be great for skin builders with Viiew. If I now have an image out of photoshop than i must multiply the width of the image * 0.75 (to make it "stretch" correctly on a widescreen tv) a build in calculator with a "* 0.75" hotkey would be very nice...

If you wanna see my wip sample skin, than open the image below (ps view in below pic must be viiew ofcourse)

I also wondered about that the PAL16x9 Skin is actually 4:3

But your Idea Looks interesting and your skin looks nice too hehe
So If I want the "real" widescreen preview I just multiply the 4:3 width by 0.75 am I right? This can't work oO because if i multiply is by 0.75 it's getting 1/4 smaller oO shouldn't it be multiplied by 1.25

I will build it in, but dCiSo has to say if it's right that it scales in wii miidia, if not you should just build a 16:9 theme in the 16:9 resolution

He ifletcher,

about the calculator. The calculator i was talking about is to calculate what width a picture must have to look good in widescreen. If i have a picture of 400 px wide, than i must multiply it by 0.75, making it width 300.

To stretch the whole page up again you must multiply is by 1.3333333, but since that is a 1 with unlimited 3's it's easier to divide the width by 3 and than multiply it by 4: (width/3)*4=widescreen-size -makes- (720/3)*4=960

I must say that what i typed above is only what i think of it. To be totally sure i must test it with the actual program
