Well, here is it....

Viiew - Wii Miidia Skinning

THX again to dCiSo who provides me with the webspace etc - without him, this wouldn't be possible... This will be the base of operations (at least for viiew atm, maybe for Wii Miidia later too? ), like someone above said!

Forums are open for registrations, the style is actually the default design but i'll make the colors the same as the rest of the page later, as you may see, I always included the navigation bar in the top of the page which is actually very cool cause you can always jump to every page! If you have problems, just write something! So let's move with our WIPs and so on to the viiew forums, I hope many people will follow and we'll be a nice community for wii miidia, viiew and wii miidia skins!

greets
Good it's nice to see that there is preporation for when miidia is released (officially i mean)XD dciso has made this brilliant like you said this would be impossible without him. Gr8 Job XD XD XD

Lightbulb Channel ideas

What would be good (if/when a miidia channel is realesd )would be the ability to change the icon on the wii homepage.

Default question

I was kind of wondering about a certain thing related to the XBMC porting. Is the on the fly rar-file unpacking included in Wii Miidia?
As I've said before, I support your work and I can't wait to see the sourcecode when/if you decide to release it.

No the initial release will not have the rar support sorry. Maybe in a leter version it will but at first it will be missing.

Here's what I've been working on btw:

So does the picture in the background (the headphones/camera) change when you switch menu selections? Like headphones for the music section, a video camera for the video and maybe a camera for the picture section.

Yes, that's the general idea. Of course many aspects of the WiiMiidia skins are still unclear. To what extend are the functions of XBMC skins available, such as animations? How many items will the menu of the home screen have? These are just examples.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the "Dark and Shinny" skin running on XBMC for Windows. I don't know why exactly, might be the fact that the textures are not compiled. Looks like we will have to wait for the first release of WiiMiidia for a real skin testing experience.

You mean the system menu? That is very unlikely to happen, channel banners are supposedly very delicate operations and coding one correctly so that it doesn't crash your wii is very difficult.

Well I have finally found the one bug I was looking for and was able to get most of the CODECs to run as they should. I have ran into a small setback (bricked my Wii) however I am working on getting the issued resolved now. The brick had nothing to do with Wii Miidia itself so nothing to worry about there.

Wii Miidia Status:

======================
COMPLETED

======================
  • MP3/WAV/AAC/OGG Coding
  • Shoucast Streaming Support
  • Image Viewer (JPG/PNG/BMP/GIF)
  • Basic GUI Package
  • Wiimote Controlls
  • Keyboard Input Controlls
  • USB Mass Storage Support
  • Skin Sample
======================

MOSTLY COMPLETED

======================
  • Main Video Code (Supports MPEG/MPEG2/DIVX/XVID/MPEG4 currently)
  • Network Update Functions
  • Subtitles
======================

CURRENTLY WORKING ON

======================
  • Codec Incorperation (This is more like the video code handling the CODECs then the CODECs themselves)
  • DVD Support
  • SMB and SMB2 Support
======================

NEEDS WORKING ON

======================
  • Initial Skin(s) for Wii Miidia
======================

MAY WORK ON

======================
  • Launching a Wii Miidia website to show progress as well as host downloads of the application as well as skins and tools. (THIS IS NOT VERY HIGH UP ON MY LIST)

Wink

Awesome that you keep us updated dCiSo, a shame about your Wii getting bricked. I'm sure bushing and the rest will help you with this matter. Keep up the good work
