I tend to prefer to lurk - I think Uhyve has it right: a vocal minority whinge and complain, but most of us are really grateful for the time and effort you put in dCisco; we just don't feel the need to speak up since everything is going fine from our perspective!

Those people complaining: go download some other media player. This isn't the only option. Yeah, we all think this is going to be head and shoulders better than anything else out there, but if you can't wait, just bloody well piss off.

A couple of people have said "oh, he's doing it for recognition, that's bad" - no, actually it's perfectly fine. THere's nothing wrong with pouring your heart and soul into a project and hoping people use it and say "wow. this is amazing. That guy... he's made something awesome." dCisco is already being more generous than you have a right to ask for: he gives up his personal time for a project we will all enjoy, time that could be spent playing with his kids (or - if he has none - making them!), earning money, etc etc. Not only that but he's said he'll make the source code available when he releases it so the project can live on if he moves on to other things. What right do you have to complain? It's his time, his work, and - legally speaking - his IP.

So stop being so bloody selfish about it. He's making damn good progress, and he's being very generous as it is.

Or to put it another way, most of us are really grateful for the time and effort dCisco puts in, the rest of you: put up or shut up.

I thank you and those of you like you. You guys are the only reason that I am still trying to get this project done. I do way more work than homebrew and it sucks at times. I have not slept in my own bed in 3 weeks and have not seen my kids in 2 weeks. My vacation pretty much turned to shit as I was hit with hurricanes and didnt even get to enjoy any of it.

After all that I am back on the road to travel for work. Do I like that I am so busy? No I don't and for those who understand that I must say thanks. I am not giving up on this project at all. I have shared source with a few people to see if they can clean some stuff up for me while I am away on business. As for fame or anything like that honestly it is not for me. I had enough of it back in the Dreamcast days and grew sick of it very fast.

Somethings that people don't sit back and understand is once you get your name out there people hound you non stop. I am sure if you would talk with bushing or marcan they will all tell you the same thing. Some of you out there crying about WiiMiidia not being done don't see the big picture. I was working on the Semibrick fix with bushing while working on WiiMiidia and him and I ended up fully bricking a Wii that has not been able to be fixed yet. Now how many people have fixed their semibricks using that fix?

So as you see there are somethings that come up now and then that take priority over WiiMiidia for the better of the comunity. Yes there are a few people who can't wait on this to get finished but think of all the people out there with semibricks who now have a means to fix them. I feel there were way more people needing a fix for that than WiiMiidia. I could be wrong but I like to help and I make nothing off of this at all. The only thing I actually have gotten so far is a headache from the Girl and Kids complaining I am not spending enough time with them.

Nice post about all that behind-the-scene action you are living. A billion thanks for all the work you do, and I personally agree that the semi-brick fix is relatively more important than WiiMiidia. After all, how can somebody use the greatest Wii media player to come if they don't have the Wii to use it?
