As you may see GeeXbox has been released and it showcases all of the bugs that I was trying to fix that eventually pushed back the release. I am spending about 4 hours a day on the project video code is not as easy as I thought it would be but it will not depend on the wiilinux nor be limited to its development. I do however have the MP3/Audio support complete as well as image viewer and network streaming functions right now the video is the only thing holding me back.
you're doin exactly the right thing dCiSo, if you'd just release a beta of this application many people would complain about bugs you just couldn't fix because everyone wanted a fast release and people would go crazy! Just keep going that way, release it when it's good and when you think most bugs are gone!

But a thing i would really appreciate is an example skin, which people can use to create skins for wii miidia now and use them when it's out!

To all of you asking about the sample skin for Wii Miidia this will be released I Next weekend. I have to travel for work and will be away from July 6 till July 10th. Once I return I will complete the basic Skin and release it for people who may want to make their own skins. I will also be adding a new section to the download area for Wii Miidia skins when the time comes.

If Wii Miidia uses the MythTV protocol, we could use MythRemote. But why would you want to use the DS when you can use the Wiimote?

I thought it would be a nice extra feature, expecially with mkv files, selecting subs - selecting different audio layers... But to be honest, i never really thought it would be possible! But indeed you are right, just the wiimote is perfect.

I love what you're doing with this keep up the good work, I've been watching this thread since it started and it's about time I posted something, hopefully helpful.

It would be really cool (and almost necessary) for fast forwarding to be done by swiping/flicking the Wiimote to the right and rewind would be the same but to the left. Skipping tracks could be done by holding B and swiping.Pause could be done by swinging upwards and Stop could be swinging downward.

It would even cooler to have the option to choose which controls we'd like to use.

I'm also all for the DS controller, I'd say that'd be for another release further down the line though.

I always thought about flicking the Wiimote for controlling video. It's a great idea, and should definitely be used in a future release, but for now I think dCiSo is doing the right thing and just getting the basics (plus a little more) done.

Instead of just flicking the Wiimote to the right/left for forward/rewind, there should always be a button combo. For instance holding "A" plus the motions. It would suck to be watching a movie and accidentally knocking or dropping your Wiimote and have it interrupt.

I think I speak for everyone when I say we appreciate your work dCiSo and cannot wait for an initial release. Best of luck to you!
