Ok back on the topic. My plan is to resume Wii Miidia starting tomorrow. I have been busy with a ton of things and have been playing around with Save Mii and a few other side projects. Sorry about letting Wii Miidia finding it's way to the back burner. The site has been moved to it's new server and eventhough it went very well there were a few problems that I need to get fixed.

Out of curiosity?...

The USB storage support of Miidia, does it support a USB external hard drive or is it memory sticks only?

Figured it would be handy to have a USB harddrive with FTP to store all the media on and have it hooked up with Miidia once it gets released.

I was also thinking of another nifty little idea, wich might be rather difficult to implement, but never the less a cool feature. Connecting to cellphones using the bluetooth interface and browse the contents.

Just wondering about the Wi-Fi, will the Wii Miidia recognize my Shared folders or do I have to configure my pc in order to get it to work?

@AlramEast: External Hard Drives should be pretty much the same as memorysticks, so they should work.

@kaelonlloyd: Can't say for sure, but I assume it's going to be better than mplayer. Perfect playback is of course the thing dCiSo is aiming to, but it might not be in the first release, although I wouldn't be surprised to see a perfect playback for most movies.

@kallbrand: If I remember correctly, SMB shares are supported. I might be wrong though.

And dCiSo, you don't have to feel sorry about not working on this 24/7! Work on this when it feels like it.

Ok time for a few updates and I do mean a few as I have been busy. Video playback is now at about 95% and mkv has been dropped from initial release. Mass storage code has been updated (thanks to they know who they are) I have been testing with a 250GB Simpletech USB HDD and it has been pretty smooth. I do however have about 4 or 5 other people helping me out with this in hopes of getting it done for Christmas but I AM NOT SAYING IT WILL BE. Some other new and cool tools are in the works as well but wont go into that since it is really not Wii Miidia related.

Sweet! Maybe when you get a chance you can update the roadmap to reflect what you've done, and maybe split the "to do" part into "Planned for initial release" and "planned for subsequent releases" if you've got your plans more or less finalized.

Are the tools being developed for the wii? or for the pc side of things?

They are being made for both PC and Console Side for the Wii as well as hardware based for another console.
