Also, it would not harm my console if the console has a mod chip in it right? Will it still be able to play back up copies of games?

Thanks

If it has a modchip then yes it should be able to play backups. This Semi Brick fix is if you messed up your Wii and need to fix the settings menu no point in running this unless you messed up the Wii

Default Thank you!

Hi, I sorted it out, and I would just like to thank you soooo much!
Also, would it be wise to update through the internet, or can that brick it?

thanks

Honestly I would not bother with updates from the internet. I would use the PatchMii work arounds from Wiibrew.org

Thanks I'll look into that.

Also, I have found another problem. After I fixed the wii, I have found that I can no longer play pal games (that were bought in Thailand - they used to run before, when my wii was semi-bricked). Is there a way to sort this out, or should I just download the NTSC versions?

Thanks

Just Install GeckoOS and launch them via that in the Homebrew Channel

Default Very very impressed.

I'm using a WiiKey with 1.9s firware and I recently downloaded the PAL version of Shaun White's Road Trip to use with my balance board; I ran across the same issue with not being able to access my Wii's settings menu. This US menu system update fixed my problem instantly and I have to say that I'm incredibly impressed by this work. I registered on this website specifically to post a congratulatory reply; well done sir!

Thank you very much for your help! Much appreciated! I am all sorted out now.

Thanks

P.S. just for anyone else who had the same problem as me for GeckoOS - I couldn't load the GeckoOS from the one on wiibrew.com, as it kept saying that it was not a valid wii application. To get around it, I just installed it from the Homebrew browser in the Homebrew channel, and the same version on the browser seemed to work.

I have used it on both Verbatim -R & +R not sure what kind of media or how you are burning it. Also if you are at 3.3 or later it will not work
