You can attempt to use the downgrader. I honestly would not advise it cause if anything goes wrong you are left with a fully bricked Wii. It is one of those things you have to decide for yourself or you can launching the disc via GeckoOS not sure if it will solve the problem as you are beyond 3.2

Default not working

Thank you for your work with fixing this problem. I have downloaded the patch 4 different times. And have burnt it 5 times. 2 times with clone dvd, 2 times with nero, and once with IMGburn. Every time my wii says it cannot recognize the disk. The last update I did was with the mario cart pal. Which is also what semi bricked my wii. I am not sure what else to try. Any help would be wonderful.

Thanks again.

maybe I can help...

1) How are you burning it onto the disc? Make sure you burn it as an ISO (I think its called a disc image when burning with nero), and not as a data disc. Also, I think the speed has to be 4X (not sure about that though).

2) Does your wii have a modchip? If it doesn't, I don't think your wii will be able to read the disc.

The only way I know of checking the FW version is using the SaveMii dongle once you are semibricked.

Default PAL Firmware

I downgraded my 3.4 to 3.2 but I put in the Pal rather than the NTSC format. Now I get the black and white screen with a rolling picture. Is there anyway to repair this?
I do not have a mod chip.

Unhappy Semi Bricked?

Ok so I think I'm one of those who updated the Wii with a different region game. The problem is now I don't know wich firmware I have. I think I'm over 3.3 because after burning the CD with the Fixed stuff, my Wii is saying: '' can't read that kind of CD''. So I have the D2 Sun Modchip. And I don't know what I can do. Is it possible to downgrade, if i don'T know my firmware? Or what can I do?

so how do i deal with updates in the future after i successfully unbricked my wii?

should i use the system update in the wii settings?
is it still safe to update from games (assuming the game is from the same region as my wii)?
