Bushing has decided to release the Semibrick fix for those of you who may have semibricked your NTSC-U Wii.

System Menu v289 is the newest NTSC version of the system menu available on Nintendo’s download servers; it’s what you will get if you go into the Settings Menu and perform an update. I packed it into a WAD, and maintained the original, valid Nintendo signature, so it should be safe to install. (The disc, however, is fakesigned. This should not be a problem.)

I’m including IOS30 as well, just in case — it’s what this system menu uses. I would expect all systems out there to already have it installed, but hey.

Obligatory warning — I have tested this on 3 Wiis and it seemed to work fine, but I can’t make any promises that it won’t brick your Wii. It contains no safeguards; use this ONLY on an NTSC (US) Wii. If you use it on an NTSC/J or Pal Wii, it WILL BRICK you. (If there is a need, I can make similar discs for those systems.)
You can download this file HERE or in our File Area

Default does not work for me, please advise

Hi dCiSo,

i would like to thank you for your time and effort to provide these images to us.

Can you tell me how i install this? I burnt the image file with IMgBurn 1x on a Verbatim Medium but the Wii sys it cant read the disk. What do i do wrong? I have a US modified Wii ( D2Ckey) and i tried to start a original Wii Fit (Pal) DVD. I still can access the System menu but i have two News and Weather Channels and the Wii Fit wont work.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Cli

The fix only restore the Wii System Menu and the Settings in order to remove the duplicate channels you will want to use the Duplicate Channel remover that can be found on Wiibrew.org

Thanks dCiSo for you fast reply. Do you have any idea why the Wii Fit game wont start or how i can make it work? I read about this in a couple of other forums but no solution.

Cheers,
Cli

As far as I have seen it will only work on it's own region I myself have not tested it at all nor spent much time one it. Only thing I can suggest is maybe try Gecko RegionFree 1.4

Hi dCiSo,

Could you please answer a few questions for me?

First of all, has my wii been really semi-bricked? The problem that i'm having with my wii is that all channels that utilize the wiiconnect24 service (shopchannel, check mii out, weather, etc) have been disabled. Trying to access them leads to a message that says that i have to review and agree to the "user agreements" in the internet tab. But when i try to access the user agreements, it leads to the message that says "Wii connect 24 service is currently not being offered". So this a semi brick?

And about the semi-brick fix, is it safe to use on any firmware version? Will using this software leave any sort of trace (like a ticket, or something) behind in my wii? Will it be safe to take updates online once i use the semi-brick fix?

This sounds more less like you just have the WiiConnect24 disabled and not really a semibrick. If you are able to access the Wii Settings then no it is not a semibrick at all. The fix doesnt leave any unwanted tickets or anything like that either it uses the SystemMenu found on the nintendo servers.

Hi dCiSo,

i just downloaded a JAP/ NTSC version and it works with this. Unfortunately i can find a English NTSC version at this stage. I might try a different PAL version. Is it possible to replace the language somehow?

Cheers,
Cli

All 3 Disc are listed above NTSC-U is USA Image. You shouldnt be trying to use NTSC-J or PAL on your Wii you need the image for your specific region. You can look in language settings after that and see if you can get what you want. These discs are not to make a NTSC-J work like an NTSC-U
